Public Art Project Call Out
Applications have now closed but look out for upcoming opportunities!
Carclew Youth Arts is seeking two emerging artists, with a graphic eye, to work alongside established sculptor, Tony Rosella, to design and manufacture three pavement inlays of sandblasted slate and brass inlay.
This commission is a collaboration between the Land Management Corporation, Port Adelaide/Enfield Council and Carclew Youth Arts, which will interpret the rich maritime history and culture of Port Adelaide.
These pavement inlays seek to honor those who went to sea via the Queens and McLaren Wharves, in particular seafarers and passengers. The pavement artworks will form a key part of the Memorial Walk between these two wharves.
The project will commence on October 19 with a design workshop and site visit to Port Adelaide. During the following week, the artists will be asked to complete the design submission for presentation to the clients on October 28 for final approval before manufacture commences. Fabrication will occur during November to deliver to the Port Adelaide/Enfield Council during mid December. In recognition of your contribution to this project you will receive an artists fee of $1,000.
